GRATITUDE, DAY TO DAY
A ten-day gratitude warm-up.
Ten small steps, one a day, that lead you gently to G-Day, or carry it on afterwards.
Gratitude challenges that last ten days are popular for a reason: they are short enough to finish and long enough to notice a difference. Here is our version, built around 10×10. Start ten days before 10 October, or begin today and fold a few days together. It works just as well in the ten days after.
Ten days, ten steps
- Day 1. Rate how you feel today from 0 to 10, and write down three things that went well.
- Day 2. Notice one person you see every day but rarely speak to.
- Day 3. Learn a name: the guard, the cleaner, the rider, the person at the counter.
- Day 4. Recall a small moment that made you smile, and write it down.
- Day 5. Thank someone for something specific, out loud.
- Day 6. Send a short message of thanks to someone far away.
- Day 7. Start your list of ten people.
- Day 8. Get your ten 10-dirham notes ready.
- Day 9. Before you sleep, think of three people who made your day easier.
- Day 10. It’s G-Day: thank your ten, then rate how you feel again.
Why it works
Each step is small, and each one trains the same skill: noticing the good around us and the people behind it. By the tenth day, saying thank you feels natural, and you have something to compare: how you felt on day one, and how you feel now.
