GRATITUDE, DAY TO DAY
Embracing the little things.
The people who make our days work are often the ones we walk past.
Think of a normal morning. Someone opened the gate. Someone cleaned the lobby before you came down. Someone filled your car, brought your groceries, kept the garden green through the summer. None of it was a big event, which is exactly why it is so easy to miss.
Noticing is a skill
Gratitude starts with attention. A simple practice helps: each evening, write down three small things you are grateful for, and try not to repeat yourself. After a few days you start looking for them during the day, and you begin to see the people behind the little things.
From noticing to thanking
10×10 adds one step: once you have noticed, say so. Tell the person what you noticed and why it matters to you. “You always greet me with a smile, and it starts my day well” takes five seconds and stays with someone far longer.
